Welcome to Guofang Miao’s website. I share on this site the progress in my research while also share my observations in the wilderness and my thoughts about being a field ecologist. Please refer to the ‘Research’ and ‘Publication’ pages for the details of the projects I have been working on.
I took the long journey from a chemical lab to the Atmosphere/Ocean and finally reached the Land. During the trip, I was broadly trained with the background of atmospheric chemistry, meteorology, oceanography, plant ecophysiology, modeling and engineering experiences, and an adventuring heart for wilderness and unknowns.

我的科研方向选择经历了漫长的试探，从本科的化学专业到硕士的大气化学，硕士论文“不经意”选择了海洋大气方向，就一拐弯儿做了几年海洋工作，再而后有意地选择了研究森林，中途虽又到农田折腾几年，最终仍是回到森林。所以，这一路，大气化学、气象学、海洋学、植物生理生态，还有附带的各种技能，有需求就学，虽诸多苦恼，回望时也多有乐趣；最重要的，是可以不胆怯也不停歇地朝未知试探。
